Organizations have different levels of control over the aspects and components of their cloud usage depending on the specific cloud computing service they use. The 4 main types of cloud computing services are as follows:
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): IaaS comprises highly automated computational resources. Through IaaS, businesses can access on-demand hardware resources without being required to make any initial hardware purchases. It is highly scalable and enables instant access to and monitoring of computing resources, data storage, as well as other networking services.
Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS is useful for customizing cloud-based applications. PaaS aids in streamlining the workflow in situations when there are multiple developers involved. Businesses are able to utilize the network and storage while developers get to handle the apps.
Software as a Service (SaaS): SaaS is a service model in which applications are delivered to users via cloud platforms that can be managed by a third party. They don’t need any further installations, making them exceptionally convenient to use.
Serverless computing: The term ‘Serverless Computing’ refers to a type of cloud computing that operates only when companies access its features. The majority of cloud computing providers gauge consumption based on the amount of storage or resources that users consume. With serverless computing, however, consumers only pay for cloud resources when they utilize them.
