In Active Directory, a forest is a collection of one or more domain trees that share a common schema, global catalog, and trust relationship with each other. A domain tree consists of one or more domains that share a contiguous namespace and a hierarchical domain structure. A forest can contain multiple domain trees, and each domain tree can have multiple domains.
