The BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) next-hop attribute is used to determine the next-hop IP address that packets should be sent to in order to reach a specific destination. It helps routers make forwarding decisions in a BGP network. The next-hop attribute is associated with a particular route and tells routers which neighboring router to send the packets to. This allows for efficient routing and forwarding of traffic across the BGP network.
