Clinical data management is the process of gathering and maintaining research data in accordance with legal requirements to provide accurate, complete, and high-quality data. The objective is to compile such relevant data for analysis that complies with local, state, and federal laws.
Demands from the pharmaceutical sector and regulatory authorities led to the development of CDM. As the pressure to speed up the development of pharmaceutical products grows, regulatory authorities have responded by mandating quality-assurance standards to be reached when gathering data for the drug evaluation process.
